        Harry’s Game was a British television drama mini-series made by Yorkshire Television for ITV in , based on the novel of the same name by Gerald Seymour. Its lead actors were Ray Lonnen and Derek Thompson. The show is best remembered for theme tune that accompanied the series by the Irish musical group Clannad titled Theme from Harry. Irish drama has been largely interlinked with the politics of the country, reflecting a close mirror-like relationship between national politics and theater. The Shaughraun () by Boucicault, Shaw's John Bull's Other Island () and Friel's Translations () each have a specific political context and offer an interpretative perspective.

In this broader sense, drama is a mode distinct from novels, short stories, and narrative poetry or songs. In the Irish television drama book era before the birth of cinema or television, "drama" within theatre was a type of play that was neither a comedy nor a tragedy.
